Lou Costello died March 3, 1959.
I’ve posted before about the appalling gap in my education regarding the comedy of Abbott and Costello.
I haven’t ever seen them, but I do have to tell you one thing:
I read the complete text of "Who’s On First" when I was a kid, in one of my parents’ Guthrie Theatre programs. I can’t remember what production the program was for, but I remember giggling my head off at "Who’s On First."
Later I looked up the skit online and listened to the whole thing, finding it was even funnier in audio format than it had been on the page.
But I still haven’t seen it.
