1934: Chicken Thief Escapes from Jail

A 23-year-old alleged chicken thief broke out of jail by breaking the padlock on the fire door, which had apparently happened before more than once.

Don’t worry. He didn’t have many "criminal characteristics."

    Where was this jail located?

    I honestly don’t know.

    I’m assuming it was the Nobles County Jail, but whether or not it was part of the county courthouse, I do not know.

    Ray Crippen might be a good person to ask…
