1984: Do Not Swim in the Lake

A 1984 news brief asked people not to swim in Lake Okabena because it had just been treated with copper sulfate. The substance is effective at retarding algae but it’s also toxic to fish, so you have to be pretty careful about how much you put into a lake, apparently.
