1944: Worthington Teacher Becomes Red Cross Staff Assistant

Margaret Donahue, daughter of Martha Donahue of Mankato, has arrived in England to serve as an American Red Cross staff assistant, it was announced in the November 1944 Daily Globe.

Miss Donahue was a graduate of Mankato state teachers college and formerly taught in the Worthington schools.

She had a wonderful expression on her face when they took this photo, as if she were staring across the Atlantic.
