1944: A Soldier Gets His Wings

Erwin D. Frantsen of Lakefield was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1944 after being trained as a bombardier and navigator. He graduated from Lakefield High School and had a brother, Daryl, in the merchant marine. Next post at noon.
