1935: Character Assassins Escape Justice

The Slayton Herald penned this wonderfully passive-aggressive snipe at a gossip in 1935.

"There is one Slayton woman who will have much to answer for if the time ever comes when the scandal monger gets his or her deserts."

Deserts?

The Lakefield Standard, meanwhile, wrote a bit about the possibility of a sales tax.
