1935: Against Spring Burning

Controlled burning is now an established practice of many farmers, as well as the Department of Natural Resources, despite a lot of people in 1935, apparently, believing it was too dangerous and bad for the environment.

Just don’t forget to get a permit and do it under the proper conditions. Permits are not that hard to get, as I understand it (although I have not ever gotten one myself). You may even want to check the Minnesota DNR’s site on burning restrictions and risks.
