The Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant still goes on at Walnut Grove, just like this 1985 photo shows. It’s funny, though, you can tell what era this was taken in despite the fact that they’re in pioneer-era clothing.

Hair. Especially, I think, the man’s hair in this particular photo–they managed to disguise the girls’ pretty well.
Hair is also usually the giveaway in old period films.
