
1939: Armistice Day
The Worthington National Bank reminded people it would be closed on Armistice Day (now Veterans Day) in 1939.
We do still celebrate Armistice Day, as Veterans Day, but it was not the beginning of Permanent Peace. In fact, in 1939, war was just around the corner for America.
